A NEW SERIES OF AFFORDABLE
PHOTO PUBLICATIONS
FOLIO-BOOKS
It's no secret that I love books, especially photo books, but I have always been a bit uncomfortable about the cost of a large, beautifully printed, hard-bound book. My new FolioBooks seem like the answer. I have been taking advantage of the latest print-on-demand technology to create a series of small (8 x 8 inch) and extremely affordable photo books. These books are printed by an innovative online printer, MagCloud.com. Clicking on any FolioBook cover image (below) will take you to a page on the MagCloud web site, where you can preview the entire contents of the book, and then if you wish, order your own copy which will be printed, bound, and sent to you directly from MagCloud.
Easy to buy—

EL NORTE
Chile's far north
40 pages, 8 x 8 inches, softbound
$15 plus shipping.
The Atacama desert in Northern Chile is known as the driest place on earth. This high desert landscape is nothing short of surreal. Traveling north from Santiago, in springtime, you discover one surprise after another: carpets of brilliant flowers along the coast, mysterious often ghostly formations of eroded rock, and halfway between altiplano and pure desert the worlds highest geyser field hidden under soaring Andean volcanos.
EL SUR / THE SOUTH

A visual journey through Chilean Patagonia, and the wild southern landscapes to the west of the Andes. More than 2,000 kilometers , north to south, from Puerto Montt all the way to Tierra del Fuego and the tip of the continent. An ever-changing parade of forests and fjords, peaks and glaciers, national parks, pristine archipelagos and wind-blown steppes.
SKIES OF THE SOUTH / CIELOS SUREÑOS
the unique skies of Central Patagonia
42 pages, 8 x8 inches, softbound
$15 plus shipping.
Patagonia is definitely Big Sky country. The sky above Patagonia is a non-stop theater, always in motion, always changing. You look up and you can’t begin to guess what you will see next. This FolioBook is an all-color collection of Linde’s most spectacular skyscrapes from almost 20 years of patagonian photography. These are skies filled with colors and forms and fantasies that you will never forget.
LOOK UP
SKY HIGH DRAMA
AND OVERHEAD BEAUTY
30 pages, 8X8 inches, softbound
$15 plus shipping.
Surreal black-and-white photography of the unique cloudscapes that haunt the skies above the peaks and lakes of Chilean patagonia. S0mehow, without color, the strange clouds and skies showcased in this FolioBook become even stranger, even more surprising, and even more mysterious.
VALPO
the street art of Valparaiso
40 pages, 8 x8 inches, softbound
$15 plus shipping.
Valparaiso—affectionally known as Valpo—is Chile’s second city, second largest, second most important, both commercially and politically, but for lovers of street art, Valpo, is number one—a permanent festival of street art, a museum of street art with steep and winding galleries, with no entrance fees. With its surreal fantasies of painted murals, painted doors, painted cement stairs and walls, and Valpo takes your breath away and steals your heart.
TREES OF THE SOUTH
fantastic forests of South America
52 pages, 8X8 inches, softbound
$20 plus shipping.
The forests of Chile's far south are simply unique. From the oldest species on the continent, the Araucaria, that coexisted with dinosaurs, to the many species of Nothofagus Beech that color the lanscape in autumn, to the giant Alerce, South America's counterpart to North America's Sequoia Gigantia, these little known forests are full of mystery, full of color, full of pure beauty.
Sol y Sombra
PATAGONIA
Light & Shadow
50 pages, 8 x 8 inches, softbound
$20 plus shipping.
In this FolioBook Linde trades brilliant color for high drama. Her first all black-and-white monograph presents the wild landscape at the very 'bottom' of South America in monochrome compositions ranging from stark to subtle, but always surprising, always new. This is Patagonia as you have never seen it before. A powerful, new, and wild vision of one of the planet's wildest places.
SANGRE DE CRISTO
Colordo's high desert mountains
50 pages, 8 x 8 inches, softbound
$20 plus shipping
Colorado's San Luis Valley is a breathtaking landscape of contrasts and contradictions: the tallest Sand Dunes in North America, tucked beneath serried ramparts of fourteen-thousand foot peaks., an arid lanscape, a true desert, that nonetheless contains more than 50% of Colrado's wetlands. This 8,000 foot high valley of distant horizons is Linde Waidhofer's adopted home and she has photographed it in every season with patience and passion
GOING TO THE LIGHT
42 pages, 8 x 8 inches, softbound
$15 plus shipping
This is the slightly smaller, softbound edition of one of my favorite books, also available hardbound.
Going to the Light is the visual story of a dawn flight across the Northern Ice Field of Chilean Patagonia. A landscape of pure ice, stretching from the crest of the southern Andes all the way to the Pacific: a world without people, not a soul, not a track, not a skier or a vehicle, as far away from our modern world as one can get. A world only a handful of people have ever seen
