Surreal Landscapes of the Desert Southwest
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

This is my latest eBook, and it completes the re-publication of my earlier books of landscape photography in electronic form. I must say that, personally, I like this electronic version even more than the original book. Why? On the computer screen these imags are as luminous as a stained glass window in a medieval church. In this eBook, my photos have a richness and presence which was virtually impossible to achieve on paper when I first published Red Rock, Blue Sky.

The Marble Caverns of Patagonia
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I call this eBook an Electronic Photo Monograph. It focuses on the astonishing marble caverns along the shores of South America's second largest lake, Lago Carrera in the heart of Patagonia. These caverns with their mysteriously deep turquoise water can be thought of as the slot canyons of the Far South. They are like nothing else, nowhere else. I have visited them for years and am totally in love with their strange beauty.( I have also recently released a printed, ink-on-paper version of Blue Light that you can read about on the "traditional book" page of this site.)

Spectacular Wildflowers of the Rockies

This eBook is a re-issue of my very first photo book, High Color. The original went through four printings before I decided that it would be better to put Western Eye's limited financial resources into new projects, rather than to continue reprinting this successful book. I am delighted to make this work available again, in this new format, at such a bargain price. And I must say, many of the images are today more handsome than they were in the original volume, simply because of my increasing skill at the computer which now allows me to do justice to the original Fujichrome slides as never before

Adventures on the Colorado Plateau

The original ink-on-paper version of Stone & Silence is now out of print, and copies are rapidly becoming collectors' items. What to do? Rather than reprinting the original I decided to re-release this favorite collection of my southwest landscape images as an electronic photo book, an eBook. I asked my husband and partner Lito Tejada-Flores who designed the original volume to design this electronic version. It is stunning and the quality of the images on a modern computer screen actually surpassses that of the original. I am thrilled to put this collection of images of the Sandstone Southwest back in circulation.      Linde W

“Stone & Silence is a blessing in the hand. Linde Waidhofer’s eye focuses not only on the majesty of forms that create the Colorado Plateau but the spiritual force that moves within the redrock desert.”
  Terry Tempest Williams
  author, naturalist

When Stone & Silence first appeared it was the winner of the Western United States Book Design Awards in the art / photography category. It also received the prize for best book in the "Image" category at the Banff Internatinal Mountain Book Festival.

“Linde Waidhofer’s splendid images interpret the American desert in a way that goes far beyond what she has witnessed. They echo the essential values that those of us who have spent time there hold dear, and those who have yet to do so hold in their mind’s eye. The purity of her vision and its execution are as rare as the scenes themselves.”
  Galen Rowell
  photographer, author, adventurer

“This is a devoted book. Devotion first to the desert and its innermost eloquence. Devotion also to photography and its expressive ability to convey Linde’s respectful reverence for wilderness. And finally there is deep devotion to the art of book building. In its timelessness, Stone & Silence is a tribute from Linde and Lito not only to the desert and to photography, but to us.”
